does the camera need to be fully charged before syncing
Wyze
Wyze 6 months ago
It shouldn't require a full charge, no. You can check the LED status light or for any error messages if the sync is failing. Those details will help our support agents troubleshoot why that problem is occurring -- you can reach them at: support.wyzecam.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Do you see any error codes show up when that sync fails? We'd recommend contacting our customer support team so they can help investigate this for you at: support.wyzecam.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Just heard of your cams a couple days ago and was impressed so I ordered 2 of them and I'm looking forward to using them. You guys and gals seem to be customer oriented and I like that....I'm hoping the 2 indoor cams work out so I can then order the outdoor cam along with the other accessories. From the reviews I've seen I'm expecting good results....solar power options and trail/game type cameras would be a good direction to go into as well.

What I would like is a WiFi connected outdoor Pan and Zoom camera that is powered by a small solar panel. It should have the best features of the Wyzecam Pan and Outdoor but without the need to deal with batteries.

Interesting....Is there a new support team to assist in the case help is needed. I've had just a fit recently with support@wyze.com wanting me to send screen shots of the issue when the issue is a Wyze plug will not operate its schedule...^*^(*&*(&^%%...Just less than useless. Also why is the 12 sec video clip now requiring read access to my phone photos? This is a security issue. Will the wireless camera also require this? It wasn't always like this.

I recently bought a "case" for my WYZE Cam for outdoor use. The cam will not see rain or snow. Did I buy the wrong product?
Wyze
Wyze 8 months ago
Can you clarify which product you thought you purchased? The Wyze Cam v1, v2, and Pan are only intended for indoor use and we don't manufacture or recommend any 3rd party outdoor case. If the device is outside in the rain or snow, it may have been damaged due to the environment.

Can you make a feature that I can group plugs and bulbs together ? In my living room i have a plug which controls a big light with 5 conventional bulbs in there and two lambs with Wyze bulbs. I would like to be able to group that on the Wyze app. On google voice I can say lights off, but on your app and maybe on the the Wyze band I might be not able to do that. Thx

I feel Wyze made some bad choices here. I bought one anyway cuz I still love Wyze but originally I was gonna buy 12(not a joke) to put around my house. Now I’ll probably just have 4. Wyze needs the option to leave the cam plugged in while keeping it weather proof. The base station needs to be able to be connected to WiFi. The cam needs to support continuous recording. We need support for bigger micro SD cards. Better Frame Rate. Higher resolution. I feel Wyze could have done a lot better! When are you releasing Wyze Cam Outdoor V2? When you do please have these features! Thanks

Sorry but the product you just described will cost hundreds of dollars. That is not in Wyze's business plan.

I don't know if this has been addressed - but in the website video - does the camera just attach to the mount by a magnet? Is there a security screw or something? What is to prevent anyone from just knocking it off or grabbing it if it's just a magnet?

Christopher P IFTTT/virtual switches but it does require cloud. I link them to use SmartThings to turn cameras on/off when coming/leaving and to automate lights and plugs to other SmartThings events. Local execution would be nice but it is pretty fast using IFTTT.

Why is the shipping cost $10 for the starter bundle? That seems a bit much for two small light weight items. It's very deceptive, as it's just another way to make the bundle price appear inexpensive. So they clearly didn't make the camera at the lowest price possible! I wonder how long the plastic housing will last out in the Sun, before it starts cracking. I disagree that noticeable IR lights are a deterrent. If a criminal sees them, they'll damage or take the camera. Invisible IR LED's cost more, so Wyze took the cheap way. I'd rather have invisible IR LED's so the camera can stay hidden and not be noticed, because there is a greater chance of getting a video of the criminals face. Just so everyone knows, all battery cameras that have motion sensing use PIR. It's the only way to save battery life. Wyze didn't come up with this idea.

joshx413
joshx413 8 months ago
If you guys didn’t hype this up like it’s be game changing, or anywhere near as disruptive to the industry that the original Wyze cam was, I probably wouldn’t feel so offended by what you guys release. Crap company’s such as zumimall have comparable cameras, at identical prices, that don’t require a base station.
joshx413
joshx413 8 months ago
46:44 you DO though if you don’t have open Ethernet ports. Can’t understand why you guys would require a hard wired connection
joshx413
joshx413 8 months ago
21:45 you’re right. There is a pretty big difference. In that it doesn’t have several key features that the cheaper and already useful V2 have. I can’t stress enough how disappointed I am with this product and it’s release(completely unnecessary hype) that you had to of known it would NEVER live up to

I’m honestly pretty disappointed. Way to much hype for this. Definitely did not meet expectations. No continuous recording. No cmc. Only $10 difference without base station. Only 4 cameras per station. And worst of all ETHERNET REQUIRED! I was so looking forward to this. But this is a HARD HARD pass. I guess I’ll stick with my v2s outside🙁 and also. No bump at all in image quality?! Honestly. The amount of hype for this was completely inappropriate and irresponsible

joshx413 8 months ago
Jas On that shouldn’t have to be the case. Especially for a new product. They’re trying to tell me if I want 12 cameras that I need to wire THREE base stations into my router?! Absolutely not. That’s absurd
User Unknown
User Unknown 8 months ago
@joshx413 Not ideal but at least switches are cheap.
joshx413
joshx413 8 months ago
To needlessly take up Ethernet ports. Although it is nice that you can store your SD in the base and not on camera
Michael Solis
Michael Solis 8 months ago
They said the base station was to slightly improve battery life for the camera. The base station communicates to the camera on the 2.4ghz signal but at a constant frequency. If it was connected to a router’s WiFi then chances are it will communicate at different frequencies causing the camera to consume more battery.

Can you use the WCO wired if you don’t want to charge it (and have power nearby)?
Michael Solis
Michael Solis 8 months ago
Yes you can. They said it can be plugged in but it will shorten the life of the lithium ion battery in the long run. Meaning it will not hold a charge for as long as it would brand new. The camera will always work with Ike powered even if the battery is shot out.

Michael Solis
Michael Solis 8 months ago
I’m planning on connecting constant power to my camera. I hope they will add Continuous Record in the future for those who connect constant power. I think they currently don’t have it because it will drain more of the battery life for those who will use the camera as is (battery powered).

Will you be able to use a larger sd card than 32gb?
SlateCreekHolston
SlateCreekHolston 8 months ago
I use a 64gb in a V2 (also technically maxed at 32gb). If you use a high quality/speed card and format FAT (need utility, WIN can’t format), I assume that it will work. I plan on trying 128gb in my base station. I will post here my results (and the utility I use to format-not at home right now so can’t look at computer).
Michael Solis
Michael Solis 8 months ago
Both the camera and base station can accept an sd card up to 32gb. They said they have some users who use larger capacity SD cards and they have worked so far.
Paul Thompson
Paul Thompson 8 months ago

joshx413
joshx413 8 months ago
Chris Solomon yeah. 100% the capture time is not only useless but irresponsible to give to people to use as a security device. So so upset with this product/launch
Chris Solomon
Chris Solomon 8 months ago
joshx413 seriously I know what it is but if your motion aka thief takes more then 12 seconds to break in your not gonna get their actions most likely therefore your camera footage is useless in court been there done that
joshx413
joshx413 8 months ago
Chris Solomon cool down is different from motion. The cool down is how long between instances of motion that you camera WONT record. Their cool down was lowered from 5 minutes to 1 minute with the outdoor cams. But the motion capture itself is still only 12 second unless/until they implement cmc
Chris Solomon
Chris Solomon 8 months ago
Paul Thompson as I mentioned Blink recorded the 12 seconds then done and what ever happens after sucks to be me...I’d need complete motion or adjustable cool down
